BINDER MACHINERY TAKES ON SENNEBOGEN LINE NEW JERSEY, DELAWARE, EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND NYC
PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - A major player in the New Jersey scrap handling equipment market for two generations, Binder Machinery has expanded its offering with the new generation of purpose-built handlers from SENNEBOGEN.

Constantino Lannes, President of SENNEBOGEN North America, recently announced that Binder Machinery Company has been appointed as the newest addition to the company’s growing distributor network for SENNEBOGEN green line machines. From its headquarters in South Plainfield, NJ and another full-service facility in Voorhees, Binder will represent SENNEBOGEN products throughout New Jersey as well as New York City, Delaware and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Binder Machinery offers one of the most extensive ranges of equipment lines in the region. Established by Walter Binder in 1957 as a Bucyrus-Erie distributor, the firm took on Komatsu construction equipment as its flagship line in 1982. Binder also represents Ingersoll-Rand paving, compaction and forklift equipment, Kobelco and Tadano cranes, Metso crushing and screening equipment and several other lines. The company, now owned by Chairman Bob Binder, recently entered its third generation of Binder family management with three younger Binders joining the firm. Their roles include Brendan Binder in Operations, Carlin Binder in sales, and Ashlee Binder in Marketing.

According to Bob Binder, his company has a long tradition in the scrap industry, supplying excavator-based material handlers for many years. By taking on the SENNEBOGEN line, Binder machinery is now positioned to re-assert its leadership in the market with advanced purpose-built material handling machines. The SENNEBOGEN appointment is a timely one as New Jersey and lower New York forecast an extended period of economic activity that Binder characterizes as "truly historic". Bob Binder explains that, in addition to 10 years of reconstruction and infrastructure development in the Manhattan area, "a record level of construction projects are underway in New Jersey, including the Xanadu development in the Meadowlands and the new ENCAP golf community.

These projects represent billions of dollars in contracts as well as the work required for transportation tie-ins to these sites. It all means great opportunities for material handling equipment in scrap markets and in port facilities."

Bob Binder says that market response to SENNEBOGEN has been a "tremendous surprise" and a welcome addition to the fleet. "I’ve never made a faster franchise decision. We did some initial research on the recommendation of other distributors who carry the SENNEBOGEN line. After one meeting with Constantino Lannes, we were able to shake hands on an agreement and complete the paperwork in less than two weeks. Just two weeks after that, we sold our first machine, an 835M with an orange-peel grapple to J.F.R. Salvage. We already have customers interested in two of the stock-order machines that are en route now."

After the agreement with SENNEBOGEN North America was completed, Bob Binder and two of his sales managers were invited to visit the SENNEBOGEN factory in Germany, just in time for the BAUMA exhibition. "I was so impressed with the people there," Binder says. "Their commitment to the business, their design philosophy; we really got to see how things worked and why. We saw so many similarities between our two businesses - both family held businesses, now in their second and third generations, with similar ways of seeing and doing things."

The ISRI conference took place soon after he returned to America. Binder met Erich Sennebogen there, the current President of SENNEBOGEN GmbH and son of its founder. Again, he says, "I have never been more impressed with the owner of an equipment company. He took the time to come to New Jersey and we were able to discuss plans for the future of the line and our business. Erich then spent a full day and a half in the field meeting our customers. Binder Machinery is identified as "The Product Support Company" based on the integrity and commitment of all our employees. SENNEBOGEN has shown the same kind of commitment to customers. I am truly proud to be their distributor."

SENNEBOGEN has been a leading name in the global material handling industry for more than 50 years. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, SENNEBOGEN North America offers a complete line of purpose-built machines to suit virtually any heavy lift or "pick & carry" application. A growing network of distributors supports SENNEBOGEN sales and service across North America, ensuring the highest standard of professional machine support and parts availability.
