RICHLAND, MS – Lyle Machinery will be opening new markets in Mississippi and southern Louisiana, with its expanded offering of SENNEBOGEN purpose-built material handlers.

Constantino Lannes, President of SENNEBOGEN North America, recently announced that Lyle Machinery has been appointed as the newest addition to the company’s growing distributor network for SENNEBOGEN. From its headquarters in Richland, MS, Lyle Machinery will represent SENNEBOGEN products from its Mississippi locations in Richland, Columbus, Gulfport, Hattiesburg and Magnolia. Lyle Machinery will soon be expanding with another location in southern Louisiana.

Dan Lyle, the Executive Vice President of Lyle Machinery says his company has a long history in the equipment and machinery market that started with his father 51 years ago. “My father started working for a CAT dealership and worked his way up to ownership. In the early 1980s, he and a few partners went into business for themselves buying the Komatsu dealership and that’s when this particular company was formed. So, I guess you can say that I was born into this business,” says Lyle with a chuckle.

Previously known as the Great Southern Tractor Company, it became a Komatsu Distributor in 1987 and began operations in 1996 as a separate entity, changing its name to Lyle Machinery in 2005 to more accurately reflect the growing diversity of its product lines. Since then, the company has developed a reputation for providing world-class sales, rentals, parts and service for all users of heavy equipment.

“Our primary goal is to be recognized as a dealer that treats customers with respect, while optimizing their return on equipment by providing prompt and outstanding service. A driving premise for all our employees is to ensure customer satisfaction,” says Lyle, adding that SENNEBOGEN, which is also a family owned business, shares the same philosophy. According to Constantino Lannes, “We are very fortunate to add a distributor like Lyle Machinery to our team. Their strength and reputation in the marketplace as well as the fact that they are family owned and the family is "hands-on" makes them the perfect compliment to our organization.”

Today, Lyle Machinery specializes in providing equipment solutions for customers involved with heavy construction, road construction, utility pipeline installations, the timber industry, wood mills and municipal markets. “We move a lot of bulldozers, wheeloaders and excavators among other equipment lines. We also have a very well trained service department and parts and service staff, and with 15 field trucks on the road, we make sure that all of our customers are well looked after,” he says.

The company also counts waterway terminal facilities that handle commodity cargo barges along the Tennessee-Tombigbee and Mississippi rivers, as well as the port facilities on the coast, as an important part of its business. “We do a lot of work with the port facilities already and this part of our business will get that much bigger now that we represent SENNEBOGEN.”

Although his company has been known first and foremost as a highly responsive Komatsu dealership, Lyle says he anticipates mirroring that success with the new SENNEBOGEN line. “I would think that over a period of time, it will become a strong number two. We have excellent relationships with existing customers that we will be doing more business with by offering them SENNEBOGEN machines.”

Aware of industry needs and always looking for new opportunities, Lyle says he had been watching the growing progress of SENNEBOGEN in North America for some time. “We have been seeing these green machines all over the country and I have been very interested in picking this up for a while. I have seen them at conventions, I read about them in the trade press and our customers that we deal with on the wheeloader and bulldozer side were using them. I just knew it was a fantastic line that was well represented and well supported and we like to partner ourselves with companies who can do that,” he explains.

“We are very excited about the opportunity. Other manufacturers don’t have as nearly as broad an offering as SENNEBOGEN. Other OEMs are not making purpose-built handlers like SENNEBOGEN. They do offer something for the dealers to sell, but they don’t take an aggressive stance for that type of business,” Lyle continues. “We have sold quite a few converted machines over the years, but nothing like we are going to be able to sell now,” pointing out the features that are unique to SENNEBOGEN machines. Lyle continued, “Having SENNEBOGEN as part of our product line up will provide us with the opportunity to be a much stronger force in the logging, waste and scrap industries.”

“The options and the versatility of their machines are incredible. They are simple to run and operate; they have longevity according to everybody I have spoken with. They have rubber tired machines, along with tracked machines and electric units. As well, they offer mounted machines, all part of their everyday capability. Everything about them shows me that SENNEBOGEN is really focused on pursuing this type of business,” says Lyle, adding that SENNEBOGEN is sending a training team to assist both the sales and service departments implement the new line. He says the employees at Lyle Machinery are already geared up for this. “We are delighted to have a new line to offer, especially one that is as well accepted and respected as SENNEBOGEN.”
