TRACTOR & EQUIPMENT COMPANY FOCUSES ON
MATERIAL HANDLING WITH SENNEBOGEN

BIRMINGHAM, ALWith an agreement to represent SENNEBOGEN green line equipment throughout Alabama, Georgia and northwest Florida, Tractor & Equipment Company, one of the largest and most diverse distributors of heavy equipment in America's Southeast, has filled its mission to acquire a specialized line of purpose-built material handling machines for its customers.

Constantino Lannes, President of SENNEBOGEN North America, recently announced that Tractor & Equipment, based in Birmingham, AL, has been appointed as the newest addition to the growing distributor network for SENNEBOGEN green line machines. With 20 branch outlets operating in the region, Tractor & Equipment is a major force in supplying equipment to the construction, municipal, industrial and forestry markets.

Tractor & Equipment Company, or TEC, first opened for business in 1943 in Birmingham and now employs more the 600 service staff and technicians. According to President Dan Stracener, the decision to take on the SENNEBOGEN line was a calculated response to customer needs. "We were looking for a line that would strengthen our position in the material handling area. The steel industry in the region is strong. This drives the recycling market. SENNEBOGEN has established a good track record with scrap handlers. We also see great potential for this equipment in Georgia and Alabama's forestry sector, as well as for loading applications along the rivers and in the port of Mobile."

TEC has been supplying specialized equipment to each these markets for many years. TEC’s present product offerings include Komatsu, Dressta, Dynapac, IR – Blaw Knox, P&H cranes, Moxy, Gradall, CMI, Tamrock, Blount and Esco.

TEC customers were consulted before the company decided on SENNEBOGEN. "We had a few directions open to us, and we wanted to be sure we were getting the best product available," Stracener says. "We talked to our customers about it. Some are already running SENNEBOGEN equipment. They told us SENNEBOGEN was the way to go."

For SENNEBOGEN customers already in the area, TEC offers a highly experienced network for service support. Stracener says his branch teams can promise highly responsive service. "With 20 locations in three states, we have people in every major center in the region. That puts us within 15 to 20 miles of most customers, just minutes away."

Since formalizing the distribution agreement in February, TEC has already sold its first SENNEBOGEN machine. Jordan Scrap Inc., a long-time TEC customer in Birmingham, AL, will take delivery of a new 835 M rubber-tired material handler this Spring.

SENNEBOGEN has been a leading name in the global material handling industry for more than 50 years. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, SENNEBOGEN North America offers a complete range of purpose-built machines to suit virtually any heavy lift or "pick & carry" application. A growing network of distributors supports SENNEBOGEN sales and service across North America, ensuring the highest standard of professional machine support and parts availability.
